REST is a useful default for resources

REST over HTTP is broadly supported and easy to inspect with ordinary tools. Resource paths and HTTP methods make simple CRUD workflows clear. Multiple resource requests can cause chatty clients, while over-fetching can return more data than a screen needs.

Use it when the resource model and caching behavior fit the client well.
